Review: Sailor ProColour 500

Sailor ProColour 500

I have recently purchased a Sailor ProColour 500, Colour of 4 seasons, Uchimizu (Water Sprinkling Clear Blue edition). Wow what a long name. Simply put it's a blue plastic demonstrator with chrome accents. Sadingly this isn't a piston filler but a cartidge converter pen. Though the pen is by no means cheap, it is has a plastic body it makes the pen feels cheap and non-durable. I think the pen will be better if it has a little bit more heft to it. I got it for USD$46 from Engeika minus shipping.

Sailor ProColour 500

Overall, I think it is a decent pen as long as you don't mind the feel of the pen. The steel nib is as stiff as a nail but smooth across the paper. Personally, I feel it is a decent first dip into the world of Sailor fountain pens.

  • Screw on cap
  • Demonstrator
